Full-Arch Dental Implant Restoration in Atlanta, GA

When you have lost, or are about to lose, all of the teeth in an upper or lower jaw, full-arch restoration rebuilds a complete, fixed smile on a small number of dental implants. All-On-4, All-On-6 and All-On-X all fall under this umbrella. Which one you need depends on your anatomy, not on a package.

The short answer

What is full-arch restoration, and how does it work?

Full-arch restoration replaces every tooth in an upper or lower jaw with one fixed bridge anchored on a small number of dental implants, usually four to six. At ANEWU the implant count is set by your own 3D scan, which is why the same treatment is called All-On-4, All-On-6 or All-On-X.

If you have ever wondered how to replace a whole row of teeth without a plate covering the roof of your mouth, this is the procedure that does it. Instead of one implant for every missing tooth, four to six implants carry a single bridge, and angling the back implants is what allows so few of them to support an entire jaw. It is the foundation of any dental implant treatment plan that involves a full arch.

Not every jaw has the bone volume for four implants, which is why the scan comes before the recommendation rather than after it.

All-On-4A full fixed arch carried on four implants, with the two back implants angled to use the bone that is already there.
All-On-6The same fixed arch spread across six implants, which distributes chewing force over more anchor points.
All-On-XThe same treatment with the implant count left open, so it is set by what your 3D scan shows rather than by a fixed number.
What it is

One fixed arch, built on a small number of implants.

A full-arch restoration is fixed. It is secured to the implants and stays there, so it is brushed in your mouth rather than taken out at night. That is the practical difference most patients notice first, well ahead of anything technical.

All-On-4 is the most recognized version of this, though the number in the name is only the implant count, not a different procedure.

Dr. Abtin Shahriari sets that count from your 3D scan. Full arch cases then stay in house at ANEWU with an on site lab, rather than being sent out to an outside laboratory between appointments.

Replacing missing teeth

How do I replace a full arch of missing teeth?

A full arch of missing teeth is replaced three ways: a removable denture, an implant supported overdenture that snaps onto implants, or a fixed full arch bridge on four to six implants that is not removed for cleaning. A 3D scan at your consultation shows which option your bone supports.

If you have ever wondered why two offices quote you completely different treatments for the same mouth, this is usually the reason. All three options replace the same teeth, but they sit on very different foundations, and only the implant based ones carry chewing force down into the jaw.

A conventional denture rests on the gums and is held by suction. An overdenture, including mini implant dentures, clips onto implants for stability but still comes out for cleaning. A fixed full arch stays in.

Which one suits you comes down to bone volume, budget, and how much you want to think about your teeth day to day.

Is this you?

Am I a candidate for full-arch restoration?

You are likely a candidate if most or all teeth in one jaw are missing or failing, or if a full denture no longer fits. Enough bone to anchor four to six implants is the deciding factor, and Dr. Abtin Shahriari confirms that from a 3D scan.

  • You have lost most or all of the teeth in an upper or lower arch
  • Your remaining teeth are failing or decayed beyond repair
  • You are wearing a full denture that no longer fits or feels stable
  • You were told you would need many single implants and want a simpler path
  • You want a fixed restoration that is not removed for cleaning
  • You have been putting off treatment because you were told you are not a candidate

If you are not sure where you sit on that list, what to expect at your first visit walks through the scan and the conversation that follows.

Fixed arch vs. denture

A fixed arch, or a traditional full denture.

Both replace a full row of teeth. They behave very differently once you are living with them, so an honest comparison matters more than a recommendation on its own.

Full-arch implant restoration

  • Fixed in place, not removed for cleaning
  • Anchored on implants that carry force into the jawbone
  • No adhesive and no slipping while eating or speaking
  • Bites and chews closer to natural teeth

Traditional full denture

  • Removable, taken out for cleaning overnight
  • Jawbone continues to shrink underneath over time
  • Often relies on adhesive for stability
  • Lower biting force than an implant-supported arch

Both are legitimate ways to replace a full arch. The difference is what happens to the bone underneath.

How it works

What happens during full-arch treatment, step by step?

Full-arch treatment runs in four stages: a consultation with a 3D scan, a written plan setting the implant count, one outpatient surgery to place the implants, then the final fixed bridge after healing. For qualifying cases at ANEWU in Atlanta, temporary fixed teeth are attached the same day as surgery.

  1. 01

    Consultation and 3D imaging

A 3D scan maps your jaw in three dimensions, showing how much bone you have and how your bite comes together. You look at it on screen during the same visit.

  2. 02

    Your treatment plan

Dr. Abtin sets the implant count, All-On-4, All-On-6 or All-On-X, and flags whether grafting or specialty anchors are needed before anything else happens.

  3. 03

    Implant placement

The implants are placed in a single outpatient visit. Where your case qualifies, a temporary fixed bridge is attached that same day.

  4. 04

    Healing and final restoration

After healing, the final fixed arch is made and fitted. Our on site lab keeps that work in house, which means fewer separate appointments.

Same-day teeth are available for qualifying cases, not all of them, and same-day smiles explains how that timing is decided.

Recovery guidance is written down for you before you leave, and the same guidance is published in our post-op care instructions so you can find it again at home.

Bone loss

What are my options if I have been told I do not have enough bone?

If another office told you that you lack the bone for a full arch, two routes usually remain. Bone grafting rebuilds the jaw so standard implants can be placed later. Zygomatic and pterygoid implants anchor in different bone entirely, which can avoid grafting. A 3D scan determines which applies.

If you have ever wondered why one surgeon says no and another says yes, this is usually the reason. The upper back jaw loses height quickly once the molars are gone, so the answer depends on where the bone is missing, not only on how much of it is missing.

Bone grafting adds that height back over several months, before the implants go in.

Zygomatic implants take a different route, anchoring above the sinus in the cheekbone so the graft can often be skipped.

Pterygoid implants do something similar further back in the jaw. Dr. Abtin will confirm which applies to your anatomy.

Cost & financing

How much does full-arch restoration cost in Atlanta?

Full-arch cost at ANEWU depends on how many implants your jaw needs, whether bone grafting comes first, and which final restoration is used. Dental insurance typically does not cover implant treatment. ANEWU accepts CareCredit and Proceed Finance and can arrange a monthly payment plan before your procedure.

Dental insurance and full-arch implants

Most dental plans were written around fillings, extractions and dentures, so implant treatment usually falls outside what they reimburse. Some plans contribute toward the extractions or the restoration itself even when they exclude the implants.

We check your plan before treatment and tell you plainly what it does and does not reach.

Financing through CareCredit and Proceed Finance

CareCredit and Proceed Finance are both accepted at ANEWU, and a monthly payment plan can be arranged before your procedure rather than after it. We also accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover.

You can review the details, including how to apply, on our implant financing options page before your consultation.

Where is this treatment performed?

Implant surgery is performed at all three ANEWU offices in Georgia. Patients north of Atlanta most often use the Cumming or Dawsonville offices, both just off the GA-400 corridor, while the Buckhead office serves patients inside the perimeter. Records move between offices, so follow up can happen at whichever address is closer.

Full-arch restoration, answered.

Straightforward answers to the questions we hear most at a consultation.

Ask us directly

They're all full-arch restorations built on different numbers of implants. All-On-4 uses four implants, All-On-6 uses six for added stability, and All-On-X uses whatever number your anatomy calls for. Dr. Abtin recommends the right fit after reviewing your 3D imaging.

If you're wearing a full denture, it's typically replaced by the fixed, implant-supported arch as part of treatment. We'll walk through the timeline at your consultation so you know what to expect.

For qualifying cases, yes. Same-day smile options can attach a temporary fixed bridge the day of implant placement, so you don't leave without teeth while the final restoration is made.

No. It's fixed in place on the implants, not removed for cleaning like a denture. You brush and floss it similarly to natural teeth, with guidance from our team.

Your surgeon

Full-arch cases are planned and finished in house.

Every full-arch restoration at ANEWU is planned from a 3D scan and performed by Dr. Abtin Shahriari, an oral surgeon specializing in implant dentistry. The restoration work then stays with our on site lab rather than being referred out, which is the reason a full arch can be planned, placed and finished by the same team across our Cumming office and the other two Georgia locations.
