What it covers

What does facial aesthetics include at ANEWU?

Facial aesthetics at ANEWU covers six treatments: Botox, dermal fillers, lip treatments, laser resurfacing, buccal fat removal and TMJ/TMD treatment. Dr. Arshia Payman, MD leads all six at the Buckhead, Cumming and Dawsonville offices, and each one is planned around your own face rather than a standard template.

If you have ever wondered which of those you actually need, it is easier to start from what bothers you in the mirror than from the name of a treatment. Lines that only appear when you move point one way, volume that has quietly gone points another, and a jaw that wakes up tight points toward TMJ and TMD care instead.

Start from the concern that brought you here
Is this you?

Am I a candidate for facial aesthetic treatment?

Most healthy adults who want to soften lines, restore lost volume or change facial contour are candidates for facial aesthetic treatment. Dr. Payman reviews your medical history, your skin and your goals first, because some conditions and medications change what is appropriate. Not every goal is met with an injection.

Facial aesthetics is elective care, so the timing is yours and nothing here is urgent. The consultation costs nothing, which means you can hear what is realistic for your face before deciding whether to book anything at all.

Facial aesthetics may suit you if:
  • You notice lines that appear when you smile, frown or raise your eyebrows
  • Your cheeks or lips look flatter in photographs than they used to
  • Skin texture, sun damage or uneven tone is the first thing you see
  • Fullness in the lower cheeks is something you have long wanted softened
  • You wake with a tight jaw, or you catch yourself clenching during the day
  • You are already planning dental or surgical treatment and want the face around it considered too

Dr. Arshia Payman, MD

Board-Certified Physician, Aesthetic Medicine

Dr. Payman is a board-certified physician specializing in aesthetic medicine. She completed undergraduate and medical school training at George Washington University and trained across four Washington D.C. hospitals, including the National Institutes of Health. She works directly with Dr. Abtin so your surgical plan and your aesthetic goals move together.

Who leads your care

Aesthetic medicine and oral surgery, under one roof.

Facial aesthetics here is not a side room rented out to a visiting injector. Dr. Payman works inside the same practice as Dr. Abtin Shahriari, an oral surgeon specializing in implant dentistry, so an aesthetic plan and a surgical plan can be discussed in one place instead of two.

That matters most when the two overlap. If you are already weighing up dental implants at ANEWU, the shape of the face around new teeth can be part of the same conversation rather than an afterthought months later.

Two different jobs

What is the difference between Botox and dermal fillers?

Botox relaxes the muscles that create expression lines, so those lines soften once the muscle stops pulling. Dermal fillers do the opposite job, adding volume back where the face has lost it. One treats movement, the other treats loss, and Dr. Payman often uses both on different areas.

If you have ever wondered why two people are given completely different recommendations for what looks like the same wrinkle, this is usually why. A line that shows up only when your face moves is a muscle question, and Botox treatment is what answers it.

A line that sits there while your face is at rest is usually a volume question, which is where dermal fillers come in. Dr. Payman looks at your face both at rest and in movement before recommending either one, and results vary from patient to patient.

Your first visit

What happens at a facial aesthetics consultation at ANEWU?

A facial aesthetics consultation at ANEWU starts with a conversation, not a syringe. Dr. Payman asks what you want to change, looks at your face at rest and in movement, reviews your medical history, then explains which treatments apply and what each one involves. You leave with a plan, not a commitment.

There is more detail on what to expect at your first visit, including what to bring with you and how much time to allow.

Book a free consultation
  1. Tell us what you want to change

Most of the appointment is spent listening. Bringing a photograph of yourself from a few years ago is often easier than putting the change into words.

  2. A look at your face, at rest and in motion

Dr. Payman reviews your skin, your facial structure and your medical history, because what is appropriate for you depends on all three rather than on the treatment you came in asking about.

  3. A plan, and what each part of it involves

You hear which treatments apply, the order they would happen in and what your own case would cost, before you decide anything at all.

Cost and financing

How much do facial aesthetic treatments cost in Atlanta?

Cost depends on which treatment you have and how much of it you need, so ANEWU quotes each case after a consultation rather than publishing a flat price. Facial aesthetic treatment is elective, and health insurance does not usually cover it. ANEWU accepts CareCredit and Proceed Finance.

A single area and a full face plan are not the same question, which is why one number published online would mislead almost everyone reading it. The full list of payment and financing options sets out what is available before you book.

We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover. Because the consultation is free, you can hear the figure for your own case, and how it would be paid, before committing to anything.
