Take a Tour of Our Atlanta Oral Surgery Office
Walking into a surgical practice for the first time can feel like a big step. Look around first, so the space feels familiar on the day you arrive.
What will you see on a tour of the ANEWU office?
An office tour shows you the front desk where you check in, the patient lounge, the imaging room where your 3D scan is taken, and the consultation room where that scan is reviewed with you. All three ANEWU offices in Georgia are built to the same standard.
If you have ever wondered what happens behind an oral surgery door, this is the walk through: the rooms, the equipment and what to expect at your first visit.

The spaces you walk through, from the front door to the chair.
Four rooms carry most of a visit.

Reception and front desk
Where you check in and confirm your history.

Patient lounge
Somewhere to wait, set apart from the clinical rooms.

Consultation room
Where your consultation happens and your scan is reviewed with you.

Imaging room
Where your 3D scan is taken, before any plan is discussed.
What happens when you walk in for your first visit?
You check in, confirm your medical and dental history, then move to imaging. A 3D scan of your jaw is taken in office the same day. You sit down with your surgeon, review the scan together and hear your options. There is no pressure to decide that day.
If you have ever wondered whether a first appointment is really a sales pitch, the order of events prevents it. Cost, including implant financing options, comes last.
- 01
Check in and health history
Your information, history and current medications are confirmed.
- 02
3D imaging, taken in office
Your jaw is scanned on site before any plan is discussed.
- 03
Sit down and review the plan
Your surgeon reviews the imaging and explains what is realistic.
Technology you will see in the room with you.
Two things shape most of what happens here. Imaging is taken in office and put on a screen in front of you. The lab sits close to the chair, which is why full arch restoration cases stay in house.
What if you feel nervous about walking into a surgical office?
Nerves are normal, and the ANEWU office is laid out with them in mind. The patient lounge sits away from the clinical rooms, your consultation happens in a consultation room rather than a surgical chair, and you can bring a spouse, family member or friend with you.
Is it too late if you have avoided the dentist for years?
No. A first visit is a free consultation, not a cleaning and not a lecture. An oral surgery practice does not provide hygiene or root canals, so the appointment is spent listening, taking a 3D scan and explaining your options. What you decide afterwards is up to you.
- The consultation is free, with no obligation
- You can bring someone with you
- Nothing is treated unless you choose it
- Questions answered in plain language
Who will you meet at your ANEWU appointment?
Your consultation is led by Dr. Abtin Shahriari, DMD, MPH, an oral surgeon specializing in implant dentistry, who reviews your 3D scan and explains your options himself. At each of the three Georgia offices a front desk team checks you in and handles insurance and financing.
Facial aesthetics here are led by Dr. Arshia Payman, MD, working from the same treatment plan as the surgical side rather than as a separate office.

Bring a current medication list, your insurance card, and any referral slip or dental x-rays you have. Photo ID is useful too. Paperwork is completed at the visit.
Yes. ANEWU works directly with referring dentists and physicians, who send a referral through the form on the referring doctors page. Patients can also book a consultation without a referral.
You will see 3D imaging, which maps your jaw before any plan is discussed, and the on site lab where full arch restorations are made instead of being sent out.
