Clear Aligners in Atlanta, GA
A series of clear, custom fitted trays that gradually shift crowded, gapped or rotated teeth into place, without metal brackets or wires. Planned digitally at our Buckhead, Cumming and Dawsonville offices.

What are clear aligners, and how do they work?
Clear aligners are a series of custom, removable plastic trays that move teeth a small amount at a time. At ANEWU, each series is designed from a 3D digital scan of your bite, and you wear the trays in order over several months. They treat mild to moderate crowding, spacing and bite issues.
If you have ever wondered how to straighten crowded or gapped teeth without metal braces, this is the option people usually mean. The trays lift out, so you brush, floss and eat as you already do. See results from other ANEWU patients.
Complex movement can still call for braces. New here? Read what to expect at your first visit.

Am I a candidate for clear aligners?
Clear aligners are a fit if your teeth have mild to moderate crowding, spacing or rotation, if your bite is close to where it should be, and if you can keep trays in for most of the day. A 3D scan at your free consultation confirms whether aligners will move your teeth where you want them.
- Crowded, gapped or slightly rotated teeth
- You want something harder to notice day to day
- You will wear them most of each day
- A mild bite issue, not a complex orthodontic case
- You would rather lift a tray out than work around brackets
- You are finished growing
When braces are the better call.
What happens during clear aligner treatment, step by step?
Clear aligner treatment runs in four stages: a digital scan and a mapped plan, fabrication of your custom tray series, wearing each tray in order for roughly one to two weeks, and periodic progress checks. ANEWU maps the full sequence before you wear tray one.
- 1
Digital scan and treatment plan
A 3D scan becomes a map of how your teeth will move.
- 2
Your custom tray series
Trays are fabricated for that map, each shaped for a small amount of movement.
- 3
Wear and swap
You wear each tray as directed, then move to the next one in the series.
- 4
Progress checks
At a progress check we compare your teeth against the plan for that stage. A tooth that is behind gets more time.
How long does clear aligner treatment take?
Most clear aligner cases take 6 to 18 months from the first tray to the last, depending on how far your teeth need to move. Mild spacing can finish sooner. Wearing the trays for the recommended number of hours each day is what keeps a case on its planned timeline.
The range is wide because the work differs in every mouth. A small gap is a short series. Rotating several teeth and settling a bite is a long one.
What living with your trays actually looks like.
The part no one mentions before you start.
Speech in the first few days
A fresh tray can put a slight lisp in your speech. It fades as your tongue adapts.
Eating, drinking and keeping trays clear
Trays come out to eat and to drink anything but water. Coffee, tea and red wine stain a tray left in.
Teeth drift once nothing is guiding them, so retention comes up as you finish your final tray. Our new patient guide covers what to expect.
Clear aligners or metal braces: which is right for you?
Clear aligners suit mild to moderate crowding and spacing and lift out to eat and brush. Metal braces stay fixed and handle a wider range of movement, including complex bite correction. Aligners are far less noticeable day to day, though they are not fully invisible up close.
| What to compare | Clear aligners | Metal braces |
|---|---|---|
| Visibility | Clear, low profile trays | Brackets and wires |
| Removable | Yes, to eat and brush | No, fixed until the end |
| Suited to | Crowding, spacing and minor rotation | Mild through complex bite correction |
| Asks of you | Wearing them nearly all day | Avoiding foods that damage a bracket |
How much do clear aligners cost in Atlanta?
Clear aligner cost at ANEWU depends on how many trays your plan needs and how far your teeth have to move, so it is quoted after a 3D scan rather than off a list. Dental insurance often does not cover adult aligner treatment. CareCredit and Proceed Finance are available.

Your questions, answered.
A few more things patients ask, with more in our new patient questions.
Ask us directlyYou may feel mild pressure for a day or two after switching to a new tray, which is a sign your teeth are moving. It's typically much milder than tightening metal braces.
Clear aligners generally need 20 to 22 hours of wear per day, removed only to eat, drink anything but water, and brush and floss.
Mild to moderate bite issues can often be corrected with clear aligners. More significant bite problems are usually handled with traditional braces or a referral instead.
Yes. Many patients finish aligner treatment and then add whitening or veneers, since it's easier to perfect shape and shade once teeth are in their final position.
